Headaches, Wakefield
Tuesday, June 1st, 2010I have just attended a lecture about headaches given by Stephen Butterworth, Consultant Neurologist at Pinderfields Hospital. He discussed the most common causes of headaches, including migraines, medicines over use headaches, tension headaches and more. It was very interesting, as I regularly have patients who come and talk to me about their headaches, as they can be associated with eye strain. Around 50% of them are eye strain but 50% are not, so it was good to discuss the symptoms of non-ocular headaches and the reasons for why they occur. This helps us when we have a patient with headaches but we cannot find eye strain – we can then refer appropriately to the right professional.
If you have regular headaches, why not come and see us at Pollards? Maybe we could help.
