Here at Pollards Optical Dental Clinic in Wakefield, a half an hour intial assessment with Dr Hassan will allow him to inspect the following areas in the mouth:
- We check the jaw joint to make sure that it is healthy, stable, and pain free.
- Check to see if the muscles of the jaw and face are sore and causing headaches.
- We check all the soft tissues for the presence of Oral Cancer.
- We check the gums for the presence of Gum disease, i.e bleeding gums, loose teeth etc
- We look for signs of tooth wear caused by clenching and grinding and acidic foods.
- We look for fillings that might be leaking or have decay around them.
- Include all necassary small radiographs or X-rays to help diagnose any issues you may have.
- We check too see that your bite patterns are stable and not contributing to pain in the jaw joint.
- Inspect the gums for signs of recession.
- Look with high power magnification for the early development of cracks with the teeth.
The above are just a few of the main things that Dr Hassan looks at during our initial inspection appointment. At the end of the appointment we will give you a written estimate of what treatment you require and how much the treatment will cost.
