Dr M K Hassan, Dental Surgeon

BDS MFDS RCSEdin (Principal)

Dr Hassan is the principal dentist at Pollards Dental Clinic. Having qualified from Sheffield Dental School, he began his career in the very busy referral clinics of Leeds Dental Hospital, working alongside some of the top consultants in the country. He then gained advanced experience in Cosmetic and Advanced Restorative Dentistry. After obtaining further qualifications, Dr Hassan earned his membership with the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

Dr Hassan went on to work with large corporates providing a wide variety of cosmetic procedures. He has travelled internationally to gain experience in Implantology and has lectured fellow colleagues on the placement of implants.

Since 2004 Dr Hassan has worked in a largely private general practice in Brighouse. During his time he has developed a special interest in both cosmetic dentistry and dental implants.

Dr Hassan’s caring and professional manner plays a big part in his treatment of nervous patients and he is committed to helping people overcome their fears.

Mrs Qausia Hassan, Optometrist

BSc MCOptom

Mrs Hassan graduated in Optometry & Visual Science from City University in London in 2004, with an award for exceptional contribution to the Optometry Department.

After conducting a literature review on Alzheimer's Disease and Vision, she became increasingly interested in vision in the elderly and now regularly visits nursing homes to provide eyecare to those who most need it.

Mrs Hassan worked as a locum for 2 years before acquiring Pollards Optical Clinic to give her the freedom to practice without corporate constraints.

She is the Secretary of the Local Optometric Commitee in Wakefield and serves to enhance Optometric services within the local area.

Roni Spiller - Manager

Roni joined the practice as our Lab Manager in 2007 and has recently been promoted to Practice Manager. With his 10 years experience in the optics industry, Roni carries out all our in house glazing, making sure all the spectacles we supply are to the highest possible standard. He regularly attends training courses to keep updated with new spectacle lens developments.

Laura Davison - Dispensing Assistant

Laura joined Pollards in 2006 taking over the practice with Mrs Hassan when Mr Pollard retired. Having worked alongside Mrs Hassan for several years previously, Laura decided to accept the challenge of bringing Pollards into the 20th century! Laura has also studied at Bradford University to broaden her knowledge of lenses and dispensing spectacles.

Natalie Kear - Dental Nurse

Natalie joined the practice in 2007 and is our resident Dental Nurse. She qualified from Wakefield College in 2008 and is now a member of the General Medical Council. Natalie hopes to attend many courses this year including radiography and Oral Hygiene in order to further her knowledge of dentistry.
